Grant and I got engaged last month, and since then everything has been a whirl! We’ve kicked into planning mode, largely because we’re both really enjoying the planning process thus far. But of course, one part of the plan is to lose some weight before the big day, so we both look and feel our [...] Gosh, it’s been AGES since my last post! Everything from flying out east to being snowed in and no updates. Well, beautyphiles, here’s my year-end summary: The very best product I discovered in 2008 was Cargo‘s Qatar eye shadow.* Yep, nothing more than one tiny pan in the most basic of basic colors: black. But [...] Man, I was so ready to hate this stuff. I figured that any concealer costing THAT much was pure hype; the next Crème de la Mer and whatnot. I even had the perfect snarky French pun post title all ready: Clé de Peu. See? SO ready for mockery. But I kept reading so many references [...] Normally I get annoyed by how many promo emails I get from Sephora, since they usually contain a bunch of not-so-natural items that make me go blech. But this time, I’m kind of intrigued. Their Last Stash ten-tube mascara sampler (which they claim is an $85 value) seems like an easy way to check out [...] So it turns out the Primer Potion I so adore was voted “Best Cult Must-Have” by Sephora customers. I’m not surprised! A little update, though — after a particularly hot and sweaty summer, half of which I spent working in a non-air-conditioned office, I can tell you that even this stuff has its limits. It’s [...] As promised, here come more 100% Pure cosmetics reviews… this time, the Fruit Pigmented Lip Gloss (in Sheer Pomegranate Wine and Pink Caramel). I already talked some about these glosses here, but I figured a few more details can’t hurt. The QVC site had a lot of reviews saying these glosses had hardly any pigment [...] In the spirit of doing some more long-awaited 100% Pure reviews, here are my first impressions on their Fruit Pigmented Cheek and Lip Tints (in Sugar Plum). Personally, I’m not much of a lipstick girl, so this didn’t do much for me in that arena. And oddly enough, the color looks totally weird on my [...] I kept promising I’d update some 100% Pure reviews here, and the drafts have been sitting around for ages. So I figured I’d finally get started and kick some of these out! First up is the Peach Pigmented Brightening Concealer (in White Peach).
